In a surprise movement, BHRT confirmed the return of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Eurovision Song Contest 2016.
On their website a statement has been published saying that the necessary funds were raised and additional costs will be covered by sponsors. It is not known how the Bosnian channel will select the participant although it was said a few days ago that BHRT had signed an agreement with Fuad Backović alias Deen (BA 2004), Dalal Midhat-Talakić and Croatian cellist Ana Rucner to represent the country in Stockholm if the necessary funds were secured.
Bosnia and Herzegovina debuted in 1993 with Fazla and participated 18 times until the 2012 contest in Baku where they reached an 18th place in the Grand Final with Maya Sar. The confirmation from BiH makes it 41 countries currently confirmed for 2016.
