France: Is Looking At Returning To Junior Eurovision

Will France Return?
Will France Return?

France are looking at returning to Junior Eurovision in the future.

The new Head of Delegation of France, Edoardo Grassi will be attending the contest this year in Sofia, Bulgaria. France last participated in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest in 2004 in Lillehammer, Norway but has not participated in the contest since then. The country was represented then by Thomas Pontier with the song “Si on voulait bien”, he finished in 6th place with a total of 78 points. After the 2004 contest France withdrew from the contest stating that:

Too much Eurovision kills Eurovision

If France returns to the contest they would be the second Big Five nation participating in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest alongside Italy.

  1. I’d adore it if France returned! It would show UK and Spain that JESC is still good viewing.
