Pertti Kurikan Nimipäivät who represented Finland at the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest are to disband next year.
The decision has been taken that once guitarist Pertti Kurikka is 60 the band will go their separate ways. The band first started in 2009 when the group met at a Helsinki center for people with disabilities. While the remaining band members are planning to retire, bass player Sami Helle says he plans to stand for the Helsinki City Council in 2017.
PKN performed “Aina mun pitää” in Vienna but failed to qualify for the final despite massive interest in the band before the contest.
