The EBU will look at the possibility of having a guest star from the ABU perform at the the Eurovision Song Contest.

At the ABU General Assembly in 2014 the ABU President suggested that a way in which the ABU and the EBU could co-operate greater was through the inclusion of a guest star from the ABU. This year saw the first participating country from outside of the EBU at the Eurovision Song Contest, Guy Sebastian of Australia.

The EBU and ABU previously worked together when the ABU were looking at creating a song contest for the Asia Pacific region, this eventually became the ABU TV Song Festival.

    1. Yes because ABU TV SF is falling. Maybe next year it will be competitive like Eurovision. Some important countries were withdrawing. ABU needs more atractive things and an EBU invitation is a nice idea. But EBU should invite countries from all around the world inside their associated members of course.

      1. It’s not surprising that ABU is irrelevant – whose idea was it to remove the competitive factor and turn ABU into a generic and second-rate music concert?
