It has been revealed that Armenian broadcaster ARMTV have selected 12-year-old Michael Varosyan to represent the country at this year’s Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Michael is an experienced young singer, having won several awards at international competitions. His notability includes appearances in the Slavianski Bazaar festival in Belarus and in previous Armenian national selection processes for Junior Eurovision.
This will be the second time that Armenia’s entry will be a male performer; the first time being in 2010, which is the nation’s only Junior Eurovision win to date. Michael’s song will be internally produced in time for the contest, which will take place on the 21st November this year.
