Bulgaria: Plovdiv Bid To Host Junior Eurovision 2015

Plovdiv Lost Out To Sofia

It has emerged that the Bulgarian city of Plovdiv had submitted a bid to BNT to host the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Plovdiv is the second largest city in Bulgaria and is located in the center of the country. The bid which was rejected due to a lack of a suitable venue in Plovdiv for the contest, instead the contest will be hosted in the Arena Armeec in Sofia. Plovdiv had wanted to host the contest in the “Racecourse” which is set to open on 30 August, the venue will be used as a sports facility and will be able to seat up to 6800 people for cycling events.
