After the BNT announcement in January it has now been officially confirmed by the EBU that Bulgaria will host this years Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

The key details have been announced:

  • The contest will take place on November 21st.
  • The show following the lead of Malta will be branded as “Bulgaria 2015”, this is to make the contest a countrywide event.
  • The show will be held at the Arena Armeec, there will be thousands of fans in the hall for the event.
  • The show is provisionally expected to start at 19:30 CET.

BNT Director General Vyara Ankova said to JuniorEurovision.tv that:

“This is a unique chance for BNT and Bulgaria to host one of the most prestigious music competitions in Europe. Krisia, Hassan and Ibrahim proved that success is possible. We also loved participating in the 2014 event put on by PBS Malta and were very impressed by the renewed energy, commitment and enormous talents of the children.  We believe that Bulgaria, as the host country, will be a new platform to young talent from all over Europe while enlightening them to the beauty and traditions of our country.”

The Executive Supervisor Vladislav Yakovlev added that:

“We are greatly looking forward to helping BNT Bulgaria in their preparations to host this year’s event.  EBU and the Junior Eurovision Steering Group will do our utmost to ensure that all the children and broadcasters who participate will be part of a positive and fun event that gives them time in the spotlight and opportunities for creativity and friendship.”

To date eight countries have confirmed their participation in the contest on November 21st. This includes Ireland who will be debuting in Bulgaria, and Albania who are set to return after last competing in 2012.
