Ahead of Wednesday’s Turkvizyon Semi Final we caught up with this years Ukrainian Turkvizyon participant Natali Deniz, I started by asking her:
You are in Kazan now and the semi final is on Wednesday evening. How are you feeling ahead of the show?
Yeah, I’m in Kazan. And of course I was nervous before his performance. This is a very big responsibility. I am honored to represent my country, Gagauz ethnic group in this contest.
You are representing Ukraine at this years contest, how does that feel for you?
I love my homeland and I am honored to represent my country at such a big event
When you were approached to take part in Turkvizyon, what was your immediate thought?
I always wanted to get on Turkvision, and when I had the chance, I decided not to miss it.
Last year Ukraine finished in third place in the final, does that put you under a lot of pressure?
I think I will cope with any difficulties. My main goal is worthy and beautiful to sing. Everything else is not so important.
Now you are part Gagauz and your song this year is being sung in Gagauz. Many people will have never heard of the Gagauz, what does it mean for you to be able to promote the Gagauz culture and language on the international stage?
I am ethnic Gagauzi. For me it is very important that the whole world knew about my people. I am proud to be representing the Gagauz ethnic group in Ukraine.
Your song is called “Sän Benim”, can you tell us what it is about and what it means to you?
My song is called “Sän benim”, which means”You mine”. This song is about a beautiful, sincere and mutual love.
What can we expect from your performance on stage in Kazan?
You will see how I sing with my soul.
Do you have anything you’d like to say to the readers of Eurovoix.com?
I want to wish everybody all the best and of course I want you to see my performance. I need Your support.
We wish Natali the best of luck for Wednesday night, you can see the music video for her song below:
