Montenegro will debut at the Junior Eurovision Contest 2014. RTCG the Montenegrin broadcaster today handed in the necessary paperwork to the EBU to confirm that they will take part in this years contest in Malta.
Executive Supervisor Vladislav Yakovlev told JuniorEurovision.tv that:
I’d like to welcome Montenegro to the Junior Eurovision family. They qualified to the Eurovision Song Contest final for the first time this year, and I hope they will also enjoy the experience of participating in Junior Eurovision as well.
The selection process for Montenegro has not been announced as of yet. This will be the first time that Montenegro has participated as an independent nation, having previously competed in 2005 as Serbia & Montenegro, it will also be the first time that Montenegrin will have been heard at Junior Eurovision. Montenegro now join Italy in debuting at this years contest bringing the number of participating countries up to 11.
