The Jury Gets Dropped

UMK the Finnish Eurovision selection is to go under changes for 2015 it has been revealed by YLE today. UMK which is now in its fourth year will now be broadcast 100% live, with the pre-recorded shows dropped, furthermore the juries have been removed from the contest meaning it is now 100% televote.

The submissions window for the contest will be from the 1st to the 8th of September. The following rules apply:

  1. Song must be unpublished.
  2. Artist must be 16 years of age or older by 05/16/2015.
  3. At least one person must have been born in Finland or have Finnish Citizenship
  4. You are limited to just 1 song per artist
  5. You are not allowed to take part in any other countries Eurovision selections
  6. Track demo version for an unlimited time and given in to YLE shall not exceed 6 people.
  7. The required materials must be sent to Yle Sept. 1 to Sept. 8, 2014 during the period in digital format (not CD!)
  8. By submitting material you agree to the contest rules and the competitive process.
  9. If you win UMK’s, will come into force by the EBU rules – for example, the duration of the competition track is where a maximum of 3 minutes.
