In a special 30 minute long interview with SMtv the San Marinese delegation for Eurovision said that qualifying for the final was like “winning the world cup”. SMtv are said to be happy with making it to the final for the first time since their debut in 2008 and will now be looking at the budget for participation and the broadcaster.
The Director General of SMtv said that they would not be announcing participation for 2015 in the short-term or revealing an artist like after the 2013 contest. He said that for San Marino it is a matter of finding the right artist and funding, it is challenging economically and artistically from San Marino to achieve this. SMtv are now looking at a longer term plan for participation.
It is hoped that San Marino’s qualification for the final could encourage the likes of Andorra and Monaco to return to the contest and Liechtenstein to take the steps necessary to debut in 2015.
