Federica Will Represent Malta

Federica Falzon (11) has been selected internally to represent Malta at the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2014. She becomes the first act to be selected for this years contest as well as the first Maltese act ever to represent Malta on their own soil in a Eurovision contest.

Federica is the reigning champion on the Italian TV show “Ti Lascio Una Canzone” who also produced San Marono’s 2013 JESC entrant Michele Perniola. Federica who is 10 years old is a Mezzo Soprano who has been taught at the La Voix Academy by Gillan Attard, the same place which the 2013 JESC winner Gaia Cauchi was taught.

  1. Hey, um, once Federica’s song is revealed (possibly a couple months from now), she should do a music video.

  2. Quick question – does “Nessun Dorma” actually belong to Federica? It kinda reminds me a bit of a typical Les Miz song.

    1. “Nessun dorma” (English: “None shall sleep”) is an aria from the final act of Giacomo Puccini’s opera Turandot, and is one of the best-known tenor arias in all opera. It is sung by Calaf, il principe ignoto (the unknown prince), who falls in love at first sight with the beautiful but cold Princess Turandot. However, any man who wishes to wed Turandot must first answer her three riddles; if he fails, he will be beheaded.
