The ABU Radio Song Festival has been moved back to the original date of May 23rd according to Asia Radio Today. The event which will take place for only the second time will see a number of songs submitted from across the ABU’s members.
It also appears that the awards given out of the night will change from the top five acts to just the top 3 acts. Mrs Vijay Sadhu, ABU Senior Executive for Radio and Festival Coordinator, told Asia Radio Today that;
With an incredible array of talent, style and musical abilities on show, selection for the finalists will be difficult
The event is limited to between 10 and 15 countries, it is however our understanding that Bhutan has withdrawn from the contest since their debut in 2012. The decision to participate in the contest had to be taken by November 2013. The songs which will take part in the contest are expected to be presented by the end of the month.
