IBA (Israeli Broadcasting Authority) have told the Israeli news and entertainment website Mako, that a televised song selection show will be held in March. They have said that a panel within the broadcaster will select the artist that will represent Israel in Copenhagen, but that the public are invited to submit songs for the show. A total of 3 songs will be performed in the show, with 1 of them being submitted by the public.
A number of artists have already been approached by the IBA and have reportedly turned down the offer. The names include Ronnie Dloomy, Kathleen Reiter, Raz Shmueli and Ronnie Dawnie. However according to Mako, Maya Buscaglia mas said that she would be willing to go to Eurovision, as well as Chen Ahroni who lost out to Dana International in 2011 in the Israeli national final.
Israel will be trying to make it to the Eurovision final in 2014 for the first time since 2010.
