It has been confirmed tonight that San Marino one of the smallest countries in Europe will be debuting at Junior Eurovision 2013. We have understood that discussions with SMtv the broadcaster for San Marino have been on going for a number of weeks, and that the delay in the announcement was due to waiting for all of the paperwork to be completed. San Marino nearly took part in the 2011 contest, however did not select a participant in time to take part. San Marino have been allowed to have children represent them from both San Marino and Italy due to San Marino only have a population of 30,000. This has been allowed by the Steering Group.
San Marino now becomes the 12th country to be confirmed as taking part in Junior Eurovision 2013. We understand that there may be a 13th country taking part in the contest, however exact details have not been confirmed.
