Aalborg have dropped out of the race to host the 2014 Eurovision Song Contest due to a lack of hotel rooms in the city. The withdrawal came after a council meeting in which the plan to host the contest was voted against due to the city having less than the 3,000 hotel rooms needed to hold the event.
This means that the all of the other competing cities bar Copenhagen if they follow the 3,000 hotel room rule would also have to withdraw their bids as well. Copenhagen has been hot favourite to host the contest since Denmark won, due to its infrastructure and hotel capacity.
