The Flemish children’s broadcaster Ketnet have confirmed today that they are withdrawing from Junior Eurovision. Ketnet which is part of VRT have said they wont be sending an entrant to Kiev despite opening submissions for 2013 back in December.
The decision was made after the national selection for JESC having higher viewing figures that the contest itself. By withdrawing from the contest they are now able to focus on a new talent show for young musicians which will be announced soon.
This means that Belgium who had been part of Junior Eurovision from it’s start in 2013 will not be at the contest unless the french broadcaster RTBF takes over.
