TRM of Moldova have today revealed that a total of 49 singers applied to take part in the Moldovan selection alongside a total of 126 songs. Local press had reported that only 15 artists had applied to take part before TRMs announcement today.
However some big names have not taken part due to the introduction of new rules. The biggest artist to publicly show their anger is Natalia Barbu the 2007 Moldovan Eurovision entrant who has decided to take part in the Romanian selection, you can read more about her decision here.
A jury will now listen to all the submitted songs on the 12th of January and will decide how many songs will go to the final. Then on the 13th auditions will be held for artists and those artists will then pick a song they wish to sing out of the qualifiers.
