The ABU have today confirmed the line up for the 1st ever ABU TV Song Festival in Seoul, South Korea. The contest will see a total of 11 countries across Asia and Oceania take part, these countries are:
- Hong Kong
- South Korea
- Sri Lanka
However three countries have decided to withdraw these are Mongolia, Fiji and the Philippines. Mongolia had selected Naran to go to South Korea to represent their nation but TV5 pulled out at the last minute.
The main difference between the Eurovision Song Contest and the ABU TV Song Festival is that the ABU contest is not competitive and does not have to be shown live by the broadcasters.
