JESC’12: Latvia & Lithuanian Have Withdrawn

More Withdrawals and More Doubt

Latvia and Lithuania have announced that they will not be taking part in Junior Eurovision 2012. The Lithuanian head of Delegation explained that the withdrawal was due to the cost of the Olympics and Euro 2012 meaning they had no budget available for JESC. Latvia have withdrawn due to financial issues too. Lithuania had returned to the contest in 2010 after withdrawing from the 2009 contest, Latvia had alsoi returned in 2010 after withdrawing from the contest after 2005. Currently only 8 countries have confirmed their interest in taking part this year, far below the necessary 11.
