He Did Not Do Well In Italy

RAI the Italian broadcaster has released their televotes for this years Eurovision Song Contest and it’s a very interesting read. Let’s first look at the 1st Semi Final:

  1. Romania – 27.22%
  2. Albania – 13.87%
  3. Moldova – 9.97%
  4. San Marino – 8.55%
  5. Russia – 6.32%
  6. Greece – 4.67%
  7. Switzerland – 4.61%
  8. Iceland – 3.9%
  9. Cyprus – 3.8%
  10. Ireland – 3.38%
  11. Finland – 2.52%
  12. Israel – 2.19%
  13. Hungary – 2.09%
  14. Latvia – 2%
  15. Montenegro – 1.54%
  16. Austria – 1.36%
  17. Denmark – 1.25%
  18. Belgium – 0.77%

Interesting to see that all of the top.4 countries are either neighbours or have a diaspora living in Italy. So Romania received 1 in every 4 votes more or less and Belgium got less than 1 in every 100. Let’s look at the final:

  1. Romania – 28.32%
  2. Albania – 12.92%
  3. Moldova – 11.22%
  4. Serbia – 7.39%
  5. Russia – 5.23%
  6. FYR Macedonia – 3.66%
  7. Ukraine – 3.13%
  8. Sweden – 3.12%
  9. Turkey – 2.79%
  10. Germany – 2.43%
  11. Spain – 2.38%
  12. Lithuania – 2.36%
  13. Greece – 2.28%
  14. Cyprus – 1.86%
  15. Iceland – 1.74%
  16. Bosnia & Herzegovina – 1.43%
  17. Denmark – 1.25%
  18. Malta – 1.25%
  19. Ireland – 1.13%
  20. Estonia – 1.05%
  21. Azerbaijan – 0.68%
  22. Hungary – 0.66%
  23. France – 0.65%
  24. Norway – 0.61%
  25. United Kingdom – 0.46%

So Romania made it over 1 in every 4 votes in Italy from the public. It does seem however that they had other ideas at the bottom of the list, the UK on 0.46% that is just 1 in every 200 votes the UK received. Norway, France, Hungary and Azerbaijan all fared badly.
