Georgea Blakey is so far the second person to enter a song to the Swiss selection process, her song is “Get Over You” a beautiful ballad inspired by her experiences in Switzerland. In an email from Georgea earlier today she replied to the questions we sent her.
Why did you chose to enter a song for the Swiss Selection Process?
Thank you for your email and interestin my song. I am sure you must know how difficult it is to get to represent theUK in the contest, as the BBC doesn’t accept entries from the publicanymore, so I decided to pick my favourite country, Switzerland, instead! I am a real fan of the snow and themountains so I love to pop over now and again to have a quick Gluhwein and thena ski through the pines. My first ever trip was to Verbier. I have also beenback many times including to Les Collons and St Moritz.
The song itself is beautiful and like nothing up on the site so far, what was the inspiration behind the song?
The inspiration for the song was anold boyfriend who I met on a skiing holiday in Switzerland ( true) , who brokemy heart!
If you make it to the Swiss National Final what would it feel like for you?
I feel very European as my mother ishalf Danish, my Father half German and my husband Irish. I would feel honoredto represent Switzerland and if I won I would certainly celebrate by booking achalet for me and my friends to see the New Year in, in style and invite all mynew Swiss Eurovision pals.
For all of those who are interested here is Georgea’s entry to the Swiss National selection: Get Over You
We wish her all the best in her dreams to represent Switzerland in Baku next May, we will be supporting her all the way from the UK.
