Daniel Modou Sarr from Norway has won the 2011 Eurovision Young Dancers Contest, held in Oslo last night. Daniel incorporated Jazz, Hip Hop and Contemporary into his dancing, and this won him the votes from the professional jury. There were 10 competing nations that ranged from the veterans of the Eurovision Young Dancers Norway who came second in the first ever edition of the contest in 1985 to the new kids on the block Kosovo.
“After a break of four years, the EBU revamped the format of the show and together with host broadcaster, Norwegian Member NRK put together an entertaining production with a fusion of different dance styles and extremely high level of talent,” said Vladislav Yakovlev, Executive Supervisor of the 2011 Eurovision Young Dancers. It was a brilliant night of talent and it is expected to be back next year with more countries if the viewing figures show well.
