The Petitions Committee of the Government of Luxembourg is set to debate the return of Luxembourg to the Eurovision Song Contest.

The committee today signed off on the debating of five different petitions. One of the petitions calls for the Grand Duchy to return to the Eurovision Song Contest, having not participated in the contest since 1993. The Petitions Committee allows the public of Luxembourg to propose changes toย legislation and other aspects of life in the country.

RTL the national broadcaster of Luxembourg has stated that they will not be participating in Eurovision 2017.

  2. This would be so neat to see Luxembourg come back to the contest, since I’ve lived every year that Luxembourg was not and never one that Luxembourg was (being born in 1994). A lot of things have happened since then, such as the introduction of the semifinals. Now if only this would encourage Andorra and Monaco to come back…
