With Eurovision Young Musicians 2014 just over a week away, the conductor for the show has been revealed today, as well as the schedule for the pre-round performances.
The conductor the show is Kristiina Poska who was born in Estonia. She conducted a number of well known orchestra’s including the Estonian national orchestra. She has received numerous prizes during her career including most recently the German Conductors Prize in April 2013. Kristiina will work with the WDR orchestra during the performances of each of the participants from the 14 countries.
This year the format of the contest has changed so there are no longer any semi final stages which previously knocked out half of the participating young artists. Instead this year there will be pre-round performances, each musician will have 15 minutes to perform up to three pieces in front of the judges who will award marks to the musicians, these scores will go towards the performance on the Saturday night.
